Carson Update!

Well, Carson has done quite a bit of growing up lately. He's crawling all over the place and pulling up onto everything. He can stand by himself and he'll even try to take a step by himself. You all should see him walking around behind his push toys! He's a little maniac! He recently learned to clap which Dayton finds a lot of fun and he's starting to wave. I can't believe how fast he's growing up.

We was just at the doctor for his 9 month well baby visit last week. He's doing great! Doc said the tubes in his ears look great and that he right on track with everything! He is weighing it at 20lbs 2 oz and is 29" long! That's 75th percentile for height and 40th percentile for weight. And for those of you who think he looks so much bigger than Dayton ... you're wrong! I looked back at my records of Dayton at 9 months and the two are almost identical.

Both boys visited spa de Mommy yesterday. So Dayton has a fresh buzz cut (which mommy loves) and Carson got his first trim. He was much harder than I remember Dayton being. We were easily able to distract Dayton with a baby einstein, but Carson didn't care. I somehow managed to get it done. In person you can tell, but it's really hard in the pictures. Believe me, his baby mullet is gone! He looks so handsome. My little men!

Ellie the Acadia

Mommy got a new red car!!!! The lease on the Envoy (Abby) was up in December so Eric and I "tagged" a GMC Acadia. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means that we picked out a car that a GM executive had for roughly 6 months or so. Basically, you get a "new" car for a fairly discounted price. I think it's something like 15% off???? Anyway, we took advantage of the GMC lease pull ahead and bought the new one when the Acadia was available.

It's red, which is unusually for us. Lately all our vehicles are either white or silver. It's really nice ... and big. It has a third row seat that completely folds down flat. The second row is actually bucket seats so the boys are separated. It's pretty much pimped out. We've got a nav system and a rear seat entertainment system which Dayton totally digs! It's basically a people mover for those of us that have vowed to never own a minivan! Here are some pictures.

Game Day

Well, we are all excited about football starting! As I heard on Mike and Mike, football starting makes summer ending not seem so terrible! Anyway, just in case anyone isn't sure who us DiBiaso's root for ... here is a picture of the boys last Saturday ...

I've been working on Dayton to do the We are ... Penn State cheer. Sometimes he does it with me! I'll just keep on working. Here we are on Sunday ...

Too bad the Colts looked like crap. Thank goodness I gave up after the third quarter. Oh well, lets just hope that the Colts got it out of their systems and start kicking some butt this week!

This video is really cute too ... Dayton likes to hike the ball to Daddy. Enjoy!

Labor Day at Lake of the Ozarks!

Well, we decided to go on another "change of scenery" for the Labor Day holiday. The Dewes' invited us to join them at Denise's mom's condo on Lake Ozark. So we packed up all the crap and headed down there on Saturday. It took us a good 8 hours or more to get there, but the boys did really well. Everyone slept ok that night. We decided to make out first venture out on the boat Sunday morning around 10. Not sure if it was accident or not, but it happened to be right at nap time for Braeden and Carson. After a little bit of cruising ... this is what the two little ones looked like ...

While they were snoozin', Dayton was trying out his sea legs. Well, you know how he is with steering wheels so he was pretty much in heaven.

The timing worked out great. We played in the water until the little guys woke up and then we all played for a while. About lunch time, we grabbed some food and then headed back to the condo (about 1:30-2-ish). On the boat ride back, Dayton and Carson fell asleep! Braeden was usually shortly thereafter. Like I said, the timing worked out great so we did the same thing on Monday. Dayton had a ball in the lake. He especially liked climbing up the ladder to get back in the boat. Up and down, up and down.

All in all, it was a really fun trip. We headed back home on Tuesday afternoon. Compared to our trip to TN for Easter this one seemed like much more of a vacation than just a change of scenery! Not sure why and I really don't care. Thanks again Deweii!!!

Bath time!

Well, I guess our little baby isn't so little anymore. Carson is now big enough to bathe without his safer bather. So to expedite bathtime ... we're "throwing" the boys in the tub together. Check it out ...

As it turns out, Carson is a little maniac in the tub. He does not want to sit down and is all over the place checking things out. When he does sit down, he just splashes away getting us all wet! Dayton pretty much just does his own thing. We're not sure it's any easier to bathe them both at the same time. It is definitely quicker though! Fun times!

Congratulations Suzie and JD

The icing on the cake of our marathon trip to PA this summer was Suzie and JD's wedding! Saturday August 2nd was the big day. 8 am we were at the salon getting our hair done. About two hours later, when we were getting ready to leave, the rain came ... it poured. And all your brides out there know what they say ... "its good luck to have rain on your wedding day". Well, fortunately for Suzie, it stopped by lunch time and cleared up beautifully. So, she got the best of both worlds ... good luck rain and good picture weather!!!! So, we all got ready and Suzie's mom's house and the limo bus picked us up around 1 for the 2:00 wedding. Here is a picture of the beautiful bride pre-wedding with her adorable ring bearer and flower girl.

The wedding was really nice, but since I was in it, I don't have any pictures to prove it. Sorry! I don't even have a picture of the happy couple. Here is a picture of Eric and I though. It backdrop for the reception was beautiful.
Congratulation Suzie and JD! We love you guys!

Carson's Baptism

During our marathon trip back to PA ... Carson got baptized. He is now officially a man of God! It was really nice and he was such a good little guy. The pastor was even surprised that he didn't cry when he got "dunked". Dayton on the other hand was a handful. He, of course, couldn't sit still. So finally we just let him go and he kind of roamed around the front of the church. It wasn't until he started slamming a door right next to the altar that we had to get him. Pop-pop then took him downstairs for a little bit. We made it through relatively unscathed! Uncle Kyle and Aunt Angela did a great job standing up for the little man! Thank you so much. We really appreciate it!
After the service, we all went out to brunch courtesy of my parents. The man of the hour slept through the entire thing, which actually made life a lot easier on Eric and I. Dayton did great! He ate his pancakes all up and was a very good boy! Thanks Mom and Dad ... brunch was an awesome idea!

No Problem Mon!

Well, Angela (my sister-in-law) and Zee finally tied the knot!!! It was a beautiful ceremony on the beach in Jamaica. So here's the run down of the trip. Eric and I got to spend a week in Jamaica without the boys ... that's right ... without the boys. We left from Allentown on Tuesday July 15th and left the boys with my mom. Thank you so much Mom. I'm sure you needed a week vacation after having Dayton and Carson. Anyway, we arrived in Montego Bay after a reasonably short layover in Atlanta sometime early afternoon. From the airport we loaded up on a bus for an hour and a half ride to our Sandals Whitehouse. Let me tell you what, that was one scarey ride. Not only do they drive on the wrong side of the road and way over the speed limit on tiny roads, our driver's name was Chicken! Good grief. We actually made it there in one piece. By then end of that night, there were 8 out of 22 of us there. Here are a couple of pictures of us enjoying our first dinner.
The next day was gorgeous so we took a glass bottom boat ride. Didn't see too much from the boat but did get a couple of shots of our resort.

Thursday and Friday were kind of overcast but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. We hung out my the pool bar, played pool volleyball, and continually sampled the local fare. Saturday was supposed to be the wedding. Note the usage of the words "supposed to" ... well, the tropical depression that caused the overcast days the two days before finally came through. It poured all day. So much for a sunset beach wedding. So we all (22 of us) hung out in the hot tub and pool and kept the bartenders at the pool bar busy all day! It was so much fun. So the wedding got postponed until Sunday. It was a beautiful, hot day. Perfect for a wedding. Everything was gorgeous!!!! Monday was also a beautiful day. Tuesday we went home. That was a whole other adventure in itself. Long story short, we got back about an hour later than scheduled into Philly instead of Allentown. Who cares ... we made it home ... eventually!!!!

Angela and Zee ... Congrats again! We love you both!

4th of July

What a busy weekend! Thursday evening we had our annual Penn State picnic. We had the three co-op students from Penn State over to the house as well as Galen Reeder and his family and Al and Vivian Wong. It was a good time. Eric grilled burgers and dogs and we pretty much just hung out. We really hope that the students decide to hire on full time when they graduate!

Then Friday we took our annual trip down the Beale's house on the lake! This year was a bit different than usual. It was only a high of 70 so it seemed more like Memorial Day than Independence Day. We didn't even get out on the boat. We did, however, walk in the Cicero parade! Mortgage City (Kelly's company) sponsored a float so Dayton and Eric rode on it and threw candy and balls to the kids on the street. Carson and I walked along side and handed out Mortgage City pens. We were all festive and had a fun time. Back at the house afterward we started a bowling tournament on their Wii (which I eventually won!). I took 7 bucks for my winnings!!!!! The fireworks started once it finally got dark at about 10:00. Carson was fast asleep but Dayton saw some. He made it about half way through the show before passing out on my lap. He made it further than last year when he only saw one. Ha ... maybe next year!

Then Saturday Eric and I played in a golf scramble and the Reeders watched the boys. We picked them up at 2:30 and Dayton passed out on the way home. He was so tired. When he finally woke up we celebrated his birthday by playing outside in his pool and then having leftover cake. He enjoyed himself. I can hardly believe he's 2 already!

Sunday we decided to take the boys to the "big pool" (Kokomo Beach). Dayton had a ball. He's fearless when it comes to the water. We really have to watch him. He jumps in, blows bubbles in the water ... he even walked in all the way up to his chin before I stopped him. He then put on a life jacket and had fun floating! Carson also loves splashing around. They're so funny.

All in all, it was a very hectic but really fun weekend. Now we've got a really busy week ahead of us as we prepare to head east for vacation. Eric and I are off to Jamaica for his sisters wedding!!! We've all been looking forward to this for a while. It'll be my first time away from the boys for such a long time. Should be interesting ... I'm really welcoming the rest though.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

Dayton had his 2nd birthday party a week early. It's hard to plan parties for him because so many people are away on vacation around the 4th of July. So we did it a week early and got a fairly good turn out. This year I decided to have it at a local park ... no clean up and easy entertainment for kids of all ages! So we ordered a bunch of pizzas for dinner and had a Mickey Mouse themed cake. I think everyone had a good time. It was really windy that day, however, so none of my decorations made it. Oh well, I don't think Dayton cared very much. I, unfortunately, didn't get very many pictures. Daddy got some videos though!

This is the best shot I got of the cake! I know, I'm a terrible mommy.

This was Dayton's favorite gift. He has taken it everywhere (including to bed) with him since we took it out of the box! He loves tractors.

New Pool

So Dayton got a cool, new pool for his birthday from Nana and PopPop. The weather was nice so we gave it to him a bit early. He seems to really enjoy it. He loves playing in the water. The pool is really neat. It's quite a bit bigger than the little one he had last year and this one has a little slide. It takes quite a bit of coaxing to get him down the slide but once he does it he really likes it. The slide also has a really cool tunnel that has a basketball net (which Dayton loves) and a ring toss game. I would just love the weather to warm up and stay warm so we can enjoy it more.

Suzie's Bridal Shower

So Mommy got a brief weekend away a few weeks ago. I got to travel back to PA for Suzie's bridal shower and bachelorette party. It was a really quick weekend but a lot of fun. I got in Friday afternoon and went to the dress shop with Suzie and her matron of honor to her final dress fitting. Suzie looked amazing in her dress! Everything was beautiful ... not that I expected anything less. I can't wait to see JD see her for the first time in it! (That's my favorite part of weddings). Then we went out to a hibachi restaurant for dinner with her entire bridal party. That was a lot of fun and really great to finally get to meet everyone in person. After dinner, we all went back to another bridesmaid's house to have a slumber party type bachelorette party. It was a good time! Then Saturday I spent the day with my mom, brother, and niece. We ran around doing errands and things but did get to spend a little time out by the pool. I also got to meet Koda my brother's dog for the first time (Dayton is going to love him) and see his new Harley (very cool). Then Saturday night I spent quite a bit of time putting together Suzie's gift for her shower. I am not creative at all so this was a huge accomplishment for me. Check it out along with my little Vanna White :-)

The shower was Sunday morning. It was a very nice and well put together shower. Here is a picture of the Northern Lehigh girls.

After the shower it was off to the airport. Unfortunately, due to bad weather in Chicago, my flight was delayed quite a bit. After sitting in the airport for an hour and then on the plane for another hour we finally took off. We got into Chicago two hours late and into the wrong gate. So I had to bust a move through the airport to catch my connecting flight. It wasn't too bad. I ended up back in Indy about an hour late. All in all is was a good weekend.

Up on all 4's!

Well, at 6 and a half months, Carson is up on all fours and ready to go. He's not exactly crawling yet but he sure wants to! He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. After a minute or so, he gets pissed off because he's not actually getting anywhere and starts to cry. He has figured out how to scoop backward but that makes him mad too. His toys are in front of him and his scooting just gets him farther away. It's just a matter of time now though. I can honestly say ... I don't think I'm ready for him to be mobile just yet! Oh well, I guess I can't slow mother nature down. He are a couple of cute pictures of him.

And then there was ONE!

This morning Dayton experienced one of his first tragedies ... he accidentally flushed his binky down the toilet. (I am still laughing as I'm typing this.) Here's what happened.

Dayton likes to flush the toilet. It's really kind of funny ... as he watches the water go down the drain, he waves at it and say "bye bye water". Well, this morning while he was avoiding brushing his teeth, he went over to the toilet and flushed it like he usually does. Now here's the important part, he was carrying his blanket and had his purple binky in his mouth. (What happened to the pink binky you ask? For those that know my son well, he loves his pink binky (to Daddy's dismay). That one got thrown away because it had outlived its usable life.) Anyway, so when he started to say "bye bye water", the binky fell out and in a swirl was gone. "Get it back, Mommy" he said to me. All I could say was "I'm sorry, honey. That binky is gone forever.". The look on his face was utter dismay. Oh, did he cry. So Daddy had to get a flashlight and search under his bed for the LAST binky Dayton has. And then there was ONE!!! One purple binky is all that is left ... when this one is gone Dayton's binky dependence will go with it!

Playing with the hose!

Yesterday it was pretty nice out! Probably low 80's but a fairly steady wind. Anyway, Carson was taking a good nap so I thought it would be nice to take Dayton outside to play in the sprinkler. Apparently he really enjoyed it at school on Thursday. He was one of three kids that wasn't afraid of the water. Anyway, I, unfortunately, couldn't find the sprinkler so I just turned on the hose and let him play. He totally cracked me up. He started out by "watering the bushes" and then slowly progressed to watering his head. Here's a cute picture ...

And in case you haven't had your fill of videos of my kids ... here's another one! I hope you like it as much as we did!

6-month Well Baby!

Finally, after several ear infections and a case of hand, foot, and mouth disease, Carson got a clean bill of health at his 6-month well baby visit the other day!!!! He's doing great. He now weights 17 lbs 3 oz (40th percentile) and is 27" long (70th percentile). He's eating baby foods although a bit more picky than Dayton was. He likes the fruit but usually spits out the squash and the green beans. Oh well, not bad ... we're transitioning to stage two foods now! Go Carson Go. Developmentally he's doing really well. He's sitting up by himself now and rolling over well. He's trying his best to crawl or move around to keep up with his big brother but he just can get that belly off the ground yet. His first tooth has finally broke the surface and the second one is close behind. He's been drooling like a leaky faucet. Anyway, here he is ... growing like a weed.

Jumpy Jumpy

So Carson is really starting to enjoy his jumper. I think he's even better at it than Dayton was. He really gets both legs into it. Dayton thinks its funny too. He usually jumps around the room when Carson is in the jumper. I haven't managed to capture it on video yet but at least I have Carson.

I've said this before in the blog and I'm going to say it again ... I keep finding myself in the position to make a decision. I can either stop the potentially dangerous behavior or I can grab the camera. Yet again, I chose the camera. Dayton came up with this all on his own! Apparently he's starting to throw caution to the wind! See for yourself!

Memorial Day

Well ... better late than never.

We had a nice long Memorial Day weekend. Friday Eric and I didn't work but we got tickets to go down to the speedway to the Delphi Suite. So we sent the boys to daycare and headed to the track. What a circus! When we finally parked the car and got inside, we saw about three or four laps of practice before the rain came and that was it. We did get to go down to the garage which was pretty cool cause they were bringing all the cars in from the rain. It was a pretty fun day even though it rained.
Saturday we decided to take the family out for a picnic in the park. Dayton had a ball. Here is a picture of when we first got there. We tried to stay away from the playground but Dayton saw it right away and wanted to go there. We managed to get some lunch in him before he gave up and started making a break for it. Here he is picking dandelions!

Dayton was thrilled to be at the park and he did great! He really likes the swings and thought it was pretty cool that Carson was "winging" too! They both wore themselves out ... it was great!

Sunday we decided to head up to Chicago and visit friends of ours ... Eric and Ellen. So we left right after lunch and the boys both slept the whole ride up there. Even after two years of this, it still amazes me how much stuff we need to take just for an overnight trip. The boys did really well, though and Eric and Ellen were very gracious and patient hosts. Thank you very much you guys!!! They are an hour behind us, however, which bit us in the butt. Both kids were up at 5:30am since they don't adjust to the time change. Made for a really long day on Monday ... it was a tough ride back home. It was a lot of fun though and really great to see Eric and Ellen again. We really don't do that enough. Thanks again you guys!!!

Roly Poly

Well, I've been posting quite a few things about Dayton lately so I thought it was time to post some things about Carson! He's doing great. He's eating baby food three times a day now and doing fairly well at it. He's also starting to sit up by himself. He can hold it for a few seconds before he falls over. He does really pretty well if we are there to help just a little bit. He's also rolling all over the place now. He's even adopting the use of the roll to get from where he is to where he wants to be. It doesn't work great as he tend to roll in a big circle :-)
