It's been a rough week

Carson had a rough week at school this past week. Early in the week we had to sign an accident report when we picked him up because one of his "friends" took a bite out of his back. It was one heck of a bite ... the poor guy. Apparently for no reason the little girl lifted up Carson's fleece jacket and took a bite out of my baby's back. She even drew blood. His teachers said he screamed bloody murder but that he was a trooper and got over it fast.

Then Thursday I think we got to school and had to sign another accident report.

This time he was running across the room (because he can't go anywhere less than full throttle) tripped over his own feet and whacked his head off the lower shelf of a toy cart in the room. I'll tell you what ... this is the child that I will be taking to the ER frequently as he gets older. He just has no fear. Lately, he has taken to doing nose dives off the couch onto a pile of pillows. So far one of us has always been there to catch him but one of these times he's going to attempt on his own. God help us!

Spring Break

Well, we all had a wonderful time in Boynton Beach, FL visiting Nana and PopPop and Oma and Opa for spring break! We flew in (that was fun) late evening on Monday (4/6). And fortunately for everyone, the boys both slept well that night. So Day 1 started off on the wrong foot. Eric and I spent the morning in an urgent care facility with Carson. He had all kinds of yellow stuff coming out of his nose and a fever that we just couldn't get down. I'm always worried about ear infections so we took him in. Fortunately, no ear infection but she did put him on anti-biotics for some sort of throat issue. Once that was taken care of, we just hung around the house and went to the park. The boys loved the park ... we ended up going there several times throughout the week. Here is a picture of the DiBiaso boys with Opa!

Wednesday was a little bit warmer than Tuesday but still a bit on the chilly side (around 68 or so) so we all decided that it would be a great day to go to the zoo. The boys had a blast and what a nice zoo. We saw tigers and jaguars and flamingos and even a white alligator! We even got to ride a carousel and play in the fountains! Here are some pictures from the zoo ...

Thursday we decided to spend the morning at an old schoolhouse Children's Museum right in Boynton Beach. It was really neat ... mostly based on the history of the town! Dayton got to play in a train and on a tractor which was hard to tear him away from. Carson slept through most of the museum part (must take after his Daddy). There was also a really neat playground outside. That afternoon Daddy and PopPop went golfing (nice playground for them). Here are some pictures.
Friday was suppose to be the warmest day of the week so we decided to pack up at take the boys to the beach. Dayton had been there when he was about 8 months old but it was Carson's first trip. And what a trip it was! It ended up not being very warm ... the sun never came out behind the clouds and it was quite windy. The boys seemed to have a good time anyway. Boy, Carson was so full of sand! I forgot about the days when you didn't care that sand got into every nook and cranny of the body.
The boys were so tired after that Dayton crashed on the couch ... check it out!
The next day Nana and Dayton dyed Easter eggs and the boys went fishing for the first time in the lake behind the house. Fortunately, Daddy thought to take the hook of the rod after they realized they weren't going to catch anything. It was really cute.

The next day the Easter bunny came and boy or boy did he ever leave a lot of stuff for the boys. I think there was a total of 7 baskets! Easter was a beautiful day. Eric and I went to church that morning and then when we got home we blew up the whale pool that Nana bought and let the boys swim. They had a blast.

The next day we left beautiful FL for cold, rainy IN at the crack of dawn. The boys did pretty good on the flight. Carson slept for about half of it and Dayton was a really good boy! We all had a really great time with Nana and PopPop and Oma and Opa but I think we were all really happy to be home. Thanks Nana and PopPop for a wonderful vacation!

"Brushing" his teeth!

So Carson has really taken to "brushing" his teeth. He climbs up on Dayton's step stool and whines until you give him a toothbrush ... any toothbrush. But, it's not even enough to get the toothbrush ... it needs to have toothpaste too. He's a picky little bugger ;-)! You know ... after watching the video, it's not so much brushing his teeth as it is wrecking havoc on my vanity. Enjoy!

15-Month WELL Baby!

So Carson was at the doctor last week for his 15-month well baby check up. He did great and is doing great too! He is now weighing in at 22 lbs 6 oz. (somewhere around the 40th percentile.) and is 31" long (somewhere around the 25th percentile). Dr. Zentz thinks the length measurement is a bit off cause he fell on the curve a bit (used to be at the 40th percentile for length too). Amazingly, it is within just a few ounces and a quarter of an inch of what Dayton was at 15 months! Other thank height and weight, Dr. Zentz gave him a once over ... said his ears/tubes look great. I was very excited to hear that since we were at the ENT about a month ago and that doc said that his ear drums looked red and was a bit concerned about an infection. I will be so happy once the weather warms up for good and we can get out of cold and flu season!!!! The doctor was also happy with Carson's gross motor skills (as he was climbing and running all over the exam room), curiosity (as he was trying to get to the computer keyboard and light switch), and speech. Carson is starting to say a bunch of words now (although you have to be around him a lot to understand most of them). He is saying "Mommy" and "Daddy" although I don't really think he understands what they mean or who they actually are. He's also saying "cookie" and "cracker" and "ball" to tell us when he acutally wants one of them! Every now and again you can get him to say "please". The other day at dinner Eric got him to say "taco"! He's really starting to try to repeat ... it's so much fun! He is a litte monster though ... absolutely into everything and trys to mimic anything his big brother does. Sounds cute, but let me tell you ... it can be a major headache. Finally, at the end of the visit to the doctor, Carson got a tetanus booster. He only cried for a short time and then he was over it! What a trooper!

I will try to continue to keep this updated on a more regular basis. Happy reading!

It's been forever

Well, it has been a very long time since I updated the blog and since I'm at home on TLO this week, I thought I would take the opportunity to give you all an update. There has been a lot going on since I last wrote on here. Carson experienced his first Halloween. It was really cute ... he was a mouse and Dayton was a bat. Good thing our neighborhood is small because they didn't have much more in them than what we did.

As usual, we then spent a nice quite Thanksgiving with The Dewes'. This year we went down to their place. We tried to have dinner actually at dinner time so that all the kiddos would be up from their naps, but no dice. Carson slept through the entire thing and Dayton threw up right after he ate. Always excitement!

A week or so later, we celebrated Carson's 1st birthday! I can't believe he is a year old already. We had a party at the house for him and it snowed that day. He did great! The blue icing on his cake made him look like he ate a smurf ... it was hilarious.

Shortly after the excitement of C-Money's first birthday, we got to experience Christmas as a family of four! Thanks to Delphi, we had an extra long Christmas break. So Santa came to the DiBiaso house the weekend before Christmas so we could have our own Christmas ... then we packed up and headed back to PA for a two week "vacation". It was an event filled trip. Christmas eve with the DiBiaso's. Christmas day with the Hude's. My parents watched the boys while we went to a friends wedding which was a blast. Eric's parents then watched the boys and we actually had a new year's eve out with friends. Eric almost took down the reining beirut champ and Suzie and JD's place. Then we finished up the night at Angela and Zee's. It was the first time in years that we didn't to get up at 6:00 am with the boys! Here are a few Christmas pics.

January and February pretty much flew by. Wonderful Delphi made us all take two weeks of temporary lay off (50% pay). Fortunately, I got to use my first week for my Colorado ski trip! I got to go out there with a few friends and Eric stayed home with the boys. We skied Breckenridge, A-Basin, Beaver Creek, Vail, and Keystone ... 5 days, 5 mountains! No snow thought, until the day we left that is! Anyway, it's been cold as all heck here this winter and the stupid groundhog told us 6 more weeks. So Eric and I just had out second week of TLO (the last week of February) and we are now officially waiting for spring. We're really looking forward to our third week of TLO when we're all going to FL to visit Nana and PopPop.

Oh and if you aren't aware yet ... our house is officially on the market. We put it up in November and have had a fair number of people look at it. No bites yet ... keep your fingers crossed for us. With the automotive industry as unstable as it is, Eric and I just think it's in our best interest to sell the house in case we need to get out of here in a hurry. Well, that's it for now ... I think I'm caught up. Hopefully it won't be six months before the next time I post!

Carson Update!

Well, Carson has done quite a bit of growing up lately. He's crawling all over the place and pulling up onto everything. He can stand by himself and he'll even try to take a step by himself. You all should see him walking around behind his push toys! He's a little maniac! He recently learned to clap which Dayton finds a lot of fun and he's starting to wave. I can't believe how fast he's growing up.

We was just at the doctor for his 9 month well baby visit last week. He's doing great! Doc said the tubes in his ears look great and that he right on track with everything! He is weighing it at 20lbs 2 oz and is 29" long! That's 75th percentile for height and 40th percentile for weight. And for those of you who think he looks so much bigger than Dayton ... you're wrong! I looked back at my records of Dayton at 9 months and the two are almost identical.

Both boys visited spa de Mommy yesterday. So Dayton has a fresh buzz cut (which mommy loves) and Carson got his first trim. He was much harder than I remember Dayton being. We were easily able to distract Dayton with a baby einstein, but Carson didn't care. I somehow managed to get it done. In person you can tell, but it's really hard in the pictures. Believe me, his baby mullet is gone! He looks so handsome. My little men!

Ellie the Acadia

Mommy got a new red car!!!! The lease on the Envoy (Abby) was up in December so Eric and I "tagged" a GMC Acadia. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means that we picked out a car that a GM executive had for roughly 6 months or so. Basically, you get a "new" car for a fairly discounted price. I think it's something like 15% off???? Anyway, we took advantage of the GMC lease pull ahead and bought the new one when the Acadia was available.

It's red, which is unusually for us. Lately all our vehicles are either white or silver. It's really nice ... and big. It has a third row seat that completely folds down flat. The second row is actually bucket seats so the boys are separated. It's pretty much pimped out. We've got a nav system and a rear seat entertainment system which Dayton totally digs! It's basically a people mover for those of us that have vowed to never own a minivan! Here are some pictures.
